Again with the Socks!

Yes. I finished another pair of socks. Again, the yarn is from SeeJayneKnitYarn and is in the NCIS colorway McGee.

I think I am now out of sock yarn. I guess I will have to start that cardigan.

That is...!

That's another sock. Yup. I finished the last pair and started another. I couldn't help myself. I love sock yarn. Plus, I've been watching the first season of Lucifer, and you know what they say about idle hands... ;-)

SnarkyLlama Creations

In the mail today were the stitch markers and rainbow sheep decal from SnarkyLlama Creations. Yay!

The stitch markers are the She Was Warned set. A dollar from each set sold is being donated to the ACLU.
A dollar from each Rainbow Sheep decal is being donated to The Trevor Project.

I've been using stitch markers from SnarkyLlama for years. Great stitch markers! They don't snag yarn. Easy to knit around. Recently they have changed the make of the charm part, making it even more durable. I highly recommend!

Look What I finished!

I finished these socks Thursday night while watching a lot of episodes of Flashpoint. I am very happy with the way they turned out!
The yarn is from SeeJayneKnitYarns and is in the colorway Stained Glass. The sock pattern is my favorite, and the one I use all the time, How I Make My Socks by Susan B. Anderson.

You can find the yarn by clicking HERE!
You can find the pattern at Ravelry or by clicking HERE.

Monster Attack!

Since I didn't post anything last year, I had forgotten that this Monster didn't get any attention here on the blog. This is Vinny V  from the Knit A Monster Nursery collection by Rebecca Danger. I knit it with red and blue Caron Simply Soft and some left over white and yellow bits of yarn.

I made this guy last year for Henry when we found out he was going to have to have his tonsils removed. I gave it to him just before surgery so he could have a friend with him.

Thankfully, the surgery went well and Henry's doctors and nurses were amazing.

Procrasti-Knitting

Yes. It's procrasti-knitting. I finished one sock and started the other. I really, really planned to start knitting that cardigan. It is, after all, my summer knitting project. But then...but then the siren call of the sock yarn found me. Now I have to finish that second sock. Can't have just one!

See!

See! I told you the sock was further along than that other pic. And you didn't believe me. Cheeky.

This is fingering weight (sock yarn) from See Jayne Knit. I LOVE sock yarn from there. Very easy to knit and soft, too. It does ship from Canada, so if you live in the U.S. the price is a little higher. This makes it my special occasion yarn. My indulgence yarn (although, this was a b-day gift ;-) This one was $24.95 and I think around $30-$32 with shipping. Shipping is usually pretty fast. About a week or so to get from British Columbia to Michigan.

Check out all the yarn, as well as stitch markers and vintage jewelry, at SeeJayneKnitYarns.

What I've Been Knitting This Year

Greater than the Sum Cowl. Knit with Stroll Hand-Painted yarn from Knit Picks. Colorway is Sunny Afternoon.
Pelligan cowl knit with Knit Picks Gloss in the colorway Tranquil.
Socks knit with Wisdom Yarns Poems Sock in the colorway Grape Arbor.
This is Alchemy. It is knit with Red Heart yarn that I bought at JoAnn's on my birthday. They had a sale 2 for $5, so I bought two of each. Cannot remember the colors. I loved them separately, but when knitted together I hated them. Also, this is a really crap photo.
Finally, my current project...another pair of socks being knit with See Jayne Knit yarn in the colorway Stained Glass. This yarn was a birthday gift from my brother Peter and sister-in-law, Ashley. The sock is actually further along than this pic, but I cannot be arsed to take another one right now.

I feel a bit like a knitter slacker. I thought I had knit so much more. I did start a cardigan that I bought the yarn for 3 years ago. I didn't like the looseness of the stitches, so it has been frogged. I fully intend to start again...I just haven't. Ah well, it is my summer project. Hopefully, there will be pictures of that soon.

Until then, Enjoy Your Summer!!

End of School Year 2016/2017

Another school year is about to end. That means another set of teacher gifts to give. This year I have reached a point where I cannot wait for school to be over. Out of three teachers, there is only one I like, one that has soured our parent/teacher relationship this week over something I find to be cruel, and one that I cannot stand for myriad reasons.

Still, I cannot give one teacher an end-of-year gift and not give one to the other two. I like to give homemade, useful gifts. This year, as I have done for a few years now, the teachers are getting homemade, natural soap and lip balm from The HumbleBee. I love these products. You can find the etsy shop HERE!

Enjoy your summer!!!
