Socks! Get Your Socks Here!

It should be no surprise that I love knitting socks. I find it relaxing and a great project to take anywhere. I can usually make a pair in a week. I rarely change up the pattern I use. I prefer the straight forward pattern and pairing it with stripped and fun colored yarns. The pattern I use most is How I Make My Socks by Susan B. Anderson.

Plus, I am also making a sock yarn afghan with the scrap sock yarn from all the socks I make. That project is slow going, but I hope to have it completed or near completed by the end of the year.

Anyway. Socks! I've knit a bunch and haven't shared any recently. So, scroll on down for all the pics and details.

First up! This is Little Red Bicycle Tandem Sock yarn in the colorway Cupcake Addict. Unfortunately, this company is no longer in business. I bought this skein from someone that was having a stash sale.
I love stripes! I saw this yarn and wanted it so badly. It is from Trailing Clouds in England and is their Nimbus Self-Striping Sock yarn in the Mind The Gap colorway. If I remember correctly, it is colors from each of the tube stations around London. This site only updates on Thursdays and sells out quickly. Surprisingly, it cost about the same as any other sock yarn even with shipping from England.
These socks! The picture does not do them justice. They are bright pink and black and are made to represent Abby from the TV show NCIS. I happen to love NCIS and I like to watch it while knitting socks ;-) The yarn is from See Jayne Knit and is the Superwash Merino and Nylon Sock. There is an entire line of NCIS sock yarn. There is Doctor Who colorways, Criminal Minds, Mad Men, and more. Plus, a lot of other colors and stripes. Also, jewelry and silk 'hankies' to knit with. I so badly want to try those. I recommend checking out the shop. It does ship from Canada so the sock yarn is around $31 with shipping and takes about a week to a week and a half to get here.
These socks are also from See Jayne Knit. This yarn was a birthday gift to me from my brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Ashley. This is the Tony colorway from NCIS.

I also have the Duckie colorway, but haven't had a chance to knit it yet. I still need the Gibbs, Ziva, and Tim yarn. I'd pretty much love any sock yarn from there, but I'd like to finish my NCIS set. See Jayne Knit sock yarn is my special treat when I have the extra money. Love the colors!
Father's Day socks for my dad. I ended up getting this yarn at the variety store in town. It is Premier Yarns Wool-Free Sock. It was hard to match up the pattern between the socks. Just tried to make them as close as possible.
Birthday socks for Peter! And in a different pattern, gasp! The pattern is Basic Ribbed Socks by Kate Atherley. Peter appreciates my love of fun colored striped yarn so I got this yarn. It is Plymouth Yarn Diversity in the Deep Sea colorway. I bought it from Paradise Fibers using some of the points I had saved up there. I think I paid less than $10 with shipping. This line of sock yarn makes my heart zing! with its stripes and colors. I want more (and I'll hoard it all for me!!).
Last, but certainly not least, is the socks I made for Irene. Jarbo Garn Mini Raggi yarn using the Basic Ribbed Socks pattern. I made some modifications to the pattern for her socks. I cast on the smallest size and did 2x2 ribbing for 12 rows I knit for 4 inches from the cast on edge then followed the pattern. They fit her perfectly and were so fast to knit compared to knitting for my big feet. She wants more socks and even the boys are now asking for some.

I need more sock yarn!!!
