I take my knitting everywhere to take the edge off of moments that would otherwise drive me stark raving mad. ~Stephanie Pearl-McPhee, At Knit's End: Meditations for Women Who Knit Too Much

I Did It!!!!
Yes, I did! Despite having caught the children's icky, nasty cold, and feeling like I would like to sleep for a year, I have finished the Skull Illusion Scarf. Therefore I have competed and finished the Knitting Olympics in the allotted time. I'd like to consider myself a gold medalist.
I was (and still am) insanely pleased with myself. My next project is a baby blanket for a friend of mine and then a lacy scarf for my sis-in-law's birthday. Knitting has become my stress reliever...better than drinking or drugs! I am falling in love with the wonderful world of yarn!
Hello! Welcome to my knitting (and other odds and ends) blog. I grew up watching my Grandma knit. It seemed like she was always with needles and yarn. It must have made an impression on me because now I knit as much as I can.
Stay a while. Check out the knitting and watch out for stray bits of yarn.

"Shiver my timbers!" "Yo ho ho!"
That's fun, and it can't have been easy, either. At first I couldn't spot the skull, but it is a bit like a magic eye painting!
Congratulations :-) It really does feel good to complete something, particularly when circumstances try to align so as to prevent it.
